Mr. Rooney

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what has been the total budget of her Department for each year since 1987–88 split between benefit payments and running costs expressed(a) in cash terms, (b) at September 1997 prices and (c) as a percentage of total Government expenditure. [22167]
