Mr. Malcolm Bruce

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what millennium compliance problems have occurred to date in his(a) Department, (b) agencies and (c) other public bodies; and if he will make a statement [21566]

Angela Eagle

[holding answer 18 December 1997]: The Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions has not experienced any millennium compliance problems to date. However the Department is continuing to monitor the position and put in place procedures to deal with any problems that might occur. One Executive Agency reported identifying a potential problem with an expiry date but this has been solved with a pre-emptive "fix". Information is not maintained centrally on other public bodies.
