§ Ms Glenda JacksonThis financial year the Department plans to spend over £4.8 million on motorway and trunk road bridges in Gloucestershire. This is largely for strengthening works, but also includes some upgrading, maintenance and assessment work. The Department is also contributing nearly £1.5 million to Gloucestershire County Council's programme of bridge strengthening and maintenance works on their local roads.
