§ Mr. ByersThe School Standards and Framework Bill will establish a new framework for the organisation of schools. All existing legal categories of mainstream maintained school—including the grant-maintained category—will be replaced by three new categories: community, foundation and voluntary. All three will be maintained by local education authorities.
