HC Deb 18 December 1997 vol 303 c288W
Mr. Brady

To ask the Secretary of State for International Development what humanitarian aid the United Kingdom gives to North Korea. [21684]

Mr. Foulkes

The UK share of the EC programme of humanitarian aid for North Korea over the past year exceeds £6 million.

In addition, since 1995 we have committed over £1 million in emergency humanitarian aid to North Korea. This includes assistance this year through the International Federation of the Red Cross of £495,000 for food distribution and £80,000 to assist people affected by typhoon floods in west coast provinces.
