To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport how many applications have been made to the national lottery distributing bodies to date from organisations in the Glasgow, Govan constituency; how many organisations from the Govan constituency have been (a) successful and (b) unsuccessful in their applications; and if he will make a statement. From the information available, organisations in the Glasgow, Govan constituency have made 164 formal applications to the Lottery distributing bodies of which 59 have been successful, 85 unsuccessful and 20 are awaiting a final decision. The table shows the breakdown of applications by distributing body. The 59 successful awards have a total value of £4,763.715.

Decisions on applications are a matter for the distributing bodies. Information on unsuccessful applications is not kept by the Department. Information on successful Lottery applicants can be found on the Department's website www.lottery,culture.gov.uk

1 It has not been possible for the Millennium Commission to provide the information on unsuccessful application, due to the way in which its records have been compiled. The Commission has awarded grant totalling £62,924,410 to four capital projects based in Glasgow. The Commission has also made a further award of £564,000 under the Millennium Awards to Individuals scheme.
