§ Mr. Geoffrey Robinson[holding answer 17 December 1997]: My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer and his Ministerial colleagues have received a number of representations on this issue. The Government has asked the Low Pay Commission to take into account the wider effects on the economy in making its recommendations on the level and coverage of the minimum wage.
