HC Deb 18 December 1997 vol 303 c270W
Mr. Maude

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what plans have been made to cope with the likely increase in the number of cars entering the Greenwich area to visit the Millennium Experience in 2000. [21260]

Ms Glenda Jackson

The vast majority of visitors to the Millennium Experience will travel by public transport using one of a variety of modes that will be available. There will be no car parking at the site, other than for orange badge holders, and a controlled parking zone stretching up to three kilometres from the site. Visitors will be encouraged to leave their cars and join public transport as close to home as possible. Park and ride or park and sail sites will also be available linked to the Experience by rail, bus or boat.
