The Health Promotion Authority for Wales whose role is to promote good health and prevent ill-health is also working towards improving nutrition in Wales. Activities include the provision of information to assist people to attain a healthy weight for their height; an examination of nutritional policies and standards in NHS hospitals; the monitoring of dietary interventions projects in schools, such as healthy tuck shops; and surveys every two years of adults' and childrens' dietary intake to identify trends and to highlight needs for intervention.
