To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if BSE has been detected in Belgian cattle destined for the United Kingdom pet food market. [20363]

One case of BSE has been reported in Belgium. The carcase of the affected animal was rendered, and we understand that the resulting meat and bone was exported to the Netherlands and Poland. We have no reason to believe that any part of the affected animal was imported into the UK for use in pet food.
