HC Deb 16 December 1997 vol 303 c132W
Mr. Welsh

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what additional assistance will be given to(a) veterinary and (b) architecture students beginning degree courses at Scottish institutions in 1998 and later towards the cost of tuition fees for the fourth and subsequent years of their courses. [21155]

Mr. Wilson

Scottish domiciled students beginning degree level courses in veterinary medicine or architecture at Scottish institutions in 1998 or later will be assisted on the same basis as those studying most other subjects. Where the course is one year longer than the comparable course in England and Wales, they will not be liable to contribute to their tuition costs in the final year.
