§ Ms Glenda JacksonThere are a number of measures in place to increase fuel efficiency, including the 6 per cent. annual fuel duty increases announced by the Chancellor in July, the Cleaner Vehicles Task Force and negotiating with the motor manufacturers a voluntary agreement at European level. We will be considering further measures as part of the new climate change programme we will be developing next year.
