HC Deb 16 December 1997 vol 303 c79W
Mr. Maude

To ask the Minister without Portfolio what estimate he has made of the likely effect of the Millennium Experience in displacing visitors from other London attractions during 2000. [18618]

Mr. Mandelson

The British Tourist Authority predicts that the Millennium Experience will add considerable value to the tourism product offered by this country, estimating that visitors will on average extend their stay in Britain by more than a day in order to take in the Experience. Existing London attractions should regard the Millennium Experience not as a threat, therefore, but as an opportunity to attract more visitors themselves.
