§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean)The Zimbabwe Independence Constitution, agreed at Lancaster House, made no reference to citizenship as a condition of land ownership. Its Declaration of Rights offers, protection from arbitrary deprivation of any property, or interest in property. Many foreign companies and holders of non-Zimbabwe passports own land in Zimbabwe.
