§ Mr. McLeish[holding answer 9 December 1997]The budgeted average annual cost per prisoner in Scotland in the current financial year (April 1997 to March 1998) is(a) £20,790 for male prisoners, and (b) £36,728 for female prisoners at Cornton Vale, and (c) as listed for each establishment in Scotland.
