To ask the President of the Board of Trade what is the current annual level of(a) US inward investment into the United Kingdom and (b) United Kingdom investment into the US; and if she will make a statement. [19736]

In 1995, the latest year for which figures are available, the United Kingdom's net inward direct investment from the US was £9.1 billion. The UK's net outward direct investment in the US was £10.4 billion.
