§ Mr. Chris SmithMy Department has established a Millennium Co-ordination Group and a number of sub-groups to ensure that interested bodies are involved at all stages of the millennium planning process. The London sub-group includes representatives from the Association of London Government, (who represent the Greater London Boroughs).
I recently had the honour of addressing a conference organised by the Association of London Government which brought together representatives of the London Boroughs and the private and voluntary sector to discuss "London: the Millennium City".
My Department also liaises on a regular basis with the Association of London Government Millennium Festival Steering Group, which brings together public, private and voluntary sector organisations, to discuss how best to facilitate the organisation of events.
