§ Mr. Chris SmithOn 1 October 1997 I announced that the Millennium Commission would receive approximately £2 billion over its lifetime, including £449 million for the Millennium Experience. This is to ensure that the Millennium Commission will have sufficient resources to meet its commitments to the New Millennium Experience Company. On current forecasts of lottery income it will be necessary to continue the funding life of the Millennium Commission until sometime in 2002 to meet this commitment.
