§ Mr. FoulkesThe Department for International Development (DFID) is supporting a very substantial number of NGO projects across a range of programmes. This includes our volunteer programme through which we are funding around 2,500 volunteers working full time in developing countries, as well as support staff in the UK. We are unable, however, to give an estimate of the total number employed as this information is not held centrally.
