§ Mr BowisI understand from National Air Traffic Services that the average daily number of takeoffs and landings at Heathrow airport in the first nine months of 1996 was 1,210 (605 arrivals and departures each) compared with 1,198 (599 arrivals and departures each) in 1995. The average daily number of night flights (2300 to 0700 hours local time) in the time period was .51 (43 arrivals and eight departures) in 1996, compared with 54 (45 arrivals and nine departures) in 1995. Of these, 15 (14 arrivals and one departure) were in the night quota period (2300 to 0600), compared with 16 (15 arrivals arid one departure) in 1995.
