To ask the Lord President of the Council what consultations he has had to facilitate the choice of dates and subjects for debates on the Loyal Address. [607]

The subjects for debate on the Loyal Address and the days on which they are debated are by tradition chosen by the main Opposition party. I refer the hon. Gentleman to page 234 of the 21st edition of Erskine May's "Parliamentary Practice."
