To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what estimate he has made of the net carbon dioxide emissions from Britain(a) in each year since 1990 and (b) in each year up to 2010. [154]

Emissions of carbon dioxide, net of the increase in carbon stored in forests and wood products, for the UK are estimated to have been:

Projected emissions are subject to greater uncertainty. They are currently estimated to be:
