HC Deb 17 October 1996 vol 282 c1084W
Mr. Mullin

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department what assessment he has made of the reasons for the recent fall in the caseload of magistrates courts in south Westminster; and if he will make a statement. [41063]

Mr. Streeter

Over the past three years the main areas of work of the magistrates courts in south Westminster showing a reduction have been the number of charges brought and laying of information for summonses by the Metropolitan police, and the number of parking offences processed by the magistrates courts.
