HC Deb 17 October 1996 vol 282 c1122W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what have been the results to date of English Heritage's excavations into the bronze age village at Brisbane road, east London; and if she will make a statement. [40883]

Mr. Sproat

The archaeological evaluation has revealed several post holes, one dated to the bronze age, and a drain of possibly medieval or earlier date. The evaluation has helped to confirm the extent of the site of a bronze age village in the area which was identified in a nearby excavation two years ago, and the possible existence of other archaeological deposits in the surrounding area.
