To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the desecration of war graves in Singapore. [40933]

My Department is unaware of the desecration of any war graves in Singapore. Where war graves are disturbed or sullied, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, which is responsible for the marking and continuing maintenance of all such graves, should be contacted. It will arrange for the grave to be restored to its previous standard with all due care and respect.
