To ask the Secretary of State for Health what number of teeth affected by decay in five-year-old children, and what number of decayed, missing and filled teeth in 14-year-old children are currently found in the Doncaster health authority area; and what is the national average for each category. The most recent figures available show that the number of decayed, missing and filled teeth—DMFT—for five-year-olds in Doncaster in 1993–94 was 2.15, while the national average was 1.74; and the DMFT figure for 14-year-olds in Doncaster in 1994–95 was 2.32 while the national average was 1.67.
