The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland has asked me to reply to your question about resurfacing of Waverley Drive and Godfrey Avenue, Bangor.A scheme to resurface these streets, which would necessitate full carriageway reconstruction with attendant footway works and replacement of various services, would be very costly and could not be justified given the many other demands on the limited funds available for road works. Their maintenance needs will therefore continue to be addressed through the routine road maintenance programme.I am sorry I cannot be more helpful on this occasion.
