To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what assessment he has made of the recent 87 findings contained in the fourth report (HC 380, Session 1995–96) of the Select Committee on the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration in respect of the adequacy of the £100 compensation payment offered by the Child Support Agency for distress and inconvenience caused to alleged absent parents who have been erroneously identified; and what plans he has to raise the level of compensation.
