§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 25 November 1996]The police report in question was instructed on behalf of the Lord Advocate as part of the investigations carried out following the death of Thomas Hamilton. The report was submitted to the inquiry, but it was not introduced as evidence. Evidence given by Chief Inspector Hughes, which covered the subject matter of the report, is detailed in the transcripts of the inquiry proceedings—page 248—which are already in the Library.
