§ Mr. Jack[holding answer 25 November 1996]For a breakdown of capital expenditure on PFI in 1995–96 by Department, I refer the hon. Gentlemen to my answer to the hon. Member for Nottingham, South (Mr. Simpson) on 25 November 1996. An aggregated estimated outturn of capital expenditure on PFI for 1996–97, along with forecasts for the future three years, broken down by Department and aggregated estimates of the cost of the future revenue commitments of the public sector will be published in the "Financial Statement and Budget Report" for 1997–98 on 26 November. Information on the amount 139W of PFI expenditure as of September 1996 was not collected separately—there is no financial or accounting reason to do so—and could be calculated only at disproportionate cost.
