To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what measures he is taking to improve recruitment to the Army. [4323]

Vigorous steps are being taken to improve recruitment. In addition to a substantial increase in the recruiting budget, we are advertising armed forces careers in jobcentres, and deferred the previously planned closure of 41 Army careers information offices.
