To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what percentage of(a) 17-year-olds and (b) 18-year-olds in Northern Ireland are in full-time education. [4640]

In 1995–96, the figures for Northern Ireland domiciled students were as follows:

  • 17-year-olds: 69 per cent.
  • 18-year-olds: 51 per cent.
