For example, the main flight data processing system was replaced in 1990 and there have been further component upgrades since then. All equipment is subject to safety case approval by the safety regulation group.

§ Mr. BowisThe West Drayton centre is constantly under review. It is subject to a twice-yearly unit safety audit by the safety regulation group and the British Standards Institute has just completed an assessment of the centre and will be recommending that the centre receives IS09001 accreditation, the first major ATC centre to receive such an accolade in the world.
