Further to the Written Answer by the Lord Chancellor of 6th November 1996 (WA 62), whether they will ensure, when they are parties to proceedings, that they put arguments to the courts in favour of interpreting the Contempt of Court Act 1981 consistently with the obligation imposed by Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
§ The Lord ChancellorThe Government, when a party to proceedings, will endeavour to ensure that all relevant issues are drawn to the court's attention, including, when appropriate, the implications of Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
