§ Mr. BurnsThe confidential inquiry into homicides and suicides by mentally ill people was set up in 1991, funded by the Department and undertaken by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Two reports have been published: "A Preliminary Report on Homicides", in August 1994, analysed 22 cases of homicides; and the "Report of the Confidential Inquiry into Homicides and Suicides by Mentally Ill People", in January 1996, analysed 39 cases of homicide and 240 cases of suicide. Both these reports are available in the Library.
