§ Mr. AncramA total of 1,741 extra housing spaces for students were created in the 10-year period 1 August 1986 to 31 July 1996.
In the same period, the number of full-time undergraduate students on higher education courses at Northern Ireland institutions increased from 15,274 to 27,134. The number of students on full-time further education courses increased from 15,178 to 21, 096.
