HC Deb 13 November 1996 vol 285 cc283-4W
Mr. Wallace

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if she will list the number and location of jobcentres in each Scottish local authority area. [3699]

Mr. Forth

Responsibility for the subject of the question has been delegated to the Employment Service agency under its chief executive. I have asked him to arrange for a reply to be given.

Letter from Mike Fogden to Mr. James Wallace, dated 12 November 1996: The Secretary of State for Education and Employment has asked me to reply to your question about the number and location of jobcentres in each Scottish local authority area. This is something which falls within the responsibilities delegated to me as chief Executive of the Agency. I can confirm that there are currently 132 Jobcentres in Scotland. For ease of reference I have attached as Annex 1 a detailed list of all Jobcentres and the corresponding local authority. I hope this is helpful.
