Mr. Willetts

[holding answer 7 November 1996]: For these purposes, my answer includes 10 Downing street and the office of my right hon. Friend the Minister without Portfolio. It includes details of expenditure on information technology projects incurred since 1992 by the Cabinet Office, the Office of Public Service and Science and its successor from July 1995, the Office of Public Service, and their agencies.

The numbers of information technology projects undertaken since 1992 in cost bands of £1,000,000, are as follows:

  • £0 to £1,000,000 = 98
  • £1,000,000 to £2,000,000 = 5
  • £2,000,000 to £3,000,000 = 1
  • £3,000,000 to £4,000,000 = 1

Seven projects, all of value less than £1,000,000 are presently planned for 1997–98.
