HC Deb 11 November 1996 vol 285 cc50-1W
11. Mr. Flynn

To ask the Deputy Prime Minister what assessment he has made of the effects of the Government's deregulation policies on safety at work. [1310]

Mr. Freeman

Changes are being made which will simplify and clarify the law without reducing necessary standards. These stem from the Health and Safety Commission's own review of regulation.

13. Mr. Skinner

To ask the Deputy Prime Minister what discussions he has had with other Ministers regarding deregulation. [1312]

Mr. Freeman

The Deputy Prime Minister meets regularly with ministerial colleagues to discuss the progress of the deregulation initiative.
