§ Miss WiddecombeSince 1 September 1994, three prisoners convicted of Irish terrorist-related offences have been released from prisons in England and Wales: 16 have been transferred from England and Wales to prisons in Northern Ireland either on a permanent or temporary basis, and two prisoners have been repatriated to the Republic of Ireland to complete their sentences.
