To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people have been burgled on more than three occasions since 1990. [2446]

The British crime survey, which is conducted by the Home Office, provides information on the extent of repeat burglary victimisation:

  1. (a) During 1995, 0.2 per cent. of households in England and Wales had an actual or attempted burglary on more than three occasions.
  2. (b) In the five years 1991 to 1995 inclusive, 7.2 per cent. of households in England and Wales had an actual or attempted burglary two or more times.
