(3) what estimate he has made of the percentages of women delivering in England and in each former NHS region in 1994–95 (a) whose labours were induced surgically, (b) whose labours were induced by oxytocic drugs, (c) whose labours were induced by a combination of these, (d) whose labours were of spontaneous onset and (e) who had elective caesarean sections; [1841]
(4) what estimate he has made of the percentages of women delivering in England and in each former NHS region in 1994–95 whose deliveries were (a) spontaneous, (b) instrumental, ((c) by caesarean section and (d) by other and unspecified means. [1839]

§ Mrs. WiseTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what notification his Department receives of obstetric interventions carried out by court order(a) without the consent of and (b) against the express wish of the patient; and how many such notifications he has received in the last five years.
