§ Mr. StreeterMy Department has no specific public relations budget. Expenditure on publicity and promotions in each of the last five financial years was as follows:

- 1993–94: £46,667
- 1994–95: £78,961
- 1995–96: £117,684
- 1996–97: (to end September): £40,061.
Expenditure on official hospitality in each of the last five financial years was as follows:
- 1992–93: £20,697
- 1993–94: £20,477
- 1994–95: £26,159
- 1995–96: £27,694
- 1996–97: (to end September): £6,165.
The only advertising that this Department carries out is for recruitment. This information is not collected centrally and can be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
