The Republic of Ireland entered a general reservation to comply or not with the recommendation as a whole and Switzerland abstained.
§ Mr. CohenTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to introduce secondary legislation to implement the data protection directive in the next Session of Parliament. [29700]
§ Mr. SackvilleWe shall decide how to implement the data protection directive in the light of responses to the Government's consultation paper. This was issued on 22 March and responses have been invited by 19 July.
