HC Deb 16 May 1996 vol 277 cc536-7W
Mr. Milburn

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to his answer of 21 March,Official Report, column 321, (1) what estimate he has made of the annual proceeds from the sale of properties in each of the next 10 years; [29714]

(2) if his estimate of proceeds from the sale of surplus or potentially surplus properties has been assumed in published public expenditure survey accounts. [29715]

Mr. Horam

The estimated annual proceeds from the sale of non-national health service trust properties over the next four years is shown in the table, together with an aggregate estimate of sales after 2000. The figures are based on the best estimate of estates advisors to the NHS executive. The estimates are based on current open market values and are liable to change as a result of fluctuations in property market values. Actual proceeds may be subject to considerable variation since many properties scheduled for sale are currently in operational use and the estimates are based on provisional disposal dates.

Estimates of the proceeds from the sale of surplus non-national health service trust properties have been taken into account as capital receipts in the Government's expenditure plans, published as Cm 3212 in March.
