Taiwan gross national product per capita in 1994 was US$ 11,604, which suggests Taiwan has the financial resources necessary to deal with its problems. Total reserves excluding gold at February 1996 stand at US$ 90.1 billion. British companies stand ready to supply the relevant expertise and equipment on a commercial basis.
