To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is his estimate of the offending rate for 15, 16 and 17-year-old(a) boys and (b) girls in each of the last three years for which figures are available; and what information he has collated on the number convicted or cautioned for previous offences. Information on the offending rate for males and females aged 15 to 17 years is given in the table.

Information collated on the numbers convicted for previous offences appears in the annual Command Paper, "Criminal statistics, England and Wales", which is available in the Library. Figures for 1991 and 1993 appeared in chapter 9 of the 1993 and 1994 issues respectively. There is no information collated on the number cautioned for previous offences.
