To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what information has been requested by the Environment Agency from his Department about the Sea Empress oil spillage; when that information was requested; and if he will place a copy of his Department's reply in the Library. [28860]

There have been close contacts between the Environment Agency and my Department on a range of matters associated with the Sea Empress oil spillage.

It is not usual practice to place copies of correspondence between the Environment Agency and my Department in the Library.
