Mr. Simon Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the "Dear Doctor" letters sent since 1980 by chairmen of the Committee on Safety of Medicines to the medical profession, indicating for each the dates they were sent, the product concerned and the dates of any accompanying licensing action; and if he will make a statement. Mr. Malone

The "Dear Doctor" letters sent by the Committee on Safety of Medicines to the medical profession since 1980 are shown in the table. Information regarding any licensing action taken in respect of some of the products listed in the letters is confidential. The relevant information for the others could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
