§ Mr. SoamesDetails of deployments by geographical area are published annually in my Department's "UK Defence Statistics" booklet. At 1 January 1996, 178,412 service personnel were deployed in the UK, and were 19W deployed 52,631 overseas. Information on the associated costs is not available in the form requested and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
